Carson Starkey family sues Sigma Alpha in Cal Poly hazing

We have some new developments to tell you about in the case of a hazing death that rocked the Cal Poly campus, almost one year ago.
Sigma Alpha Epsilon pledge, Carson Starkey died last December while at a pledge event. Today, the Starkey family announced they’ve filed a wrongful death lawsuit.
The complaint names the national Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity as well as the local SAE chapter and nine fraternity members.
The Starkey family says the law suit is not about money. They want the way the SAE fraternity operates to change. Since 1997 a total of four people associated with that fraternity have died as a result of the misuse of alcohol. Now, the Starkey family is saying, enough is enough.
