Elizabeth Lambert: BYU coach reacts to rough UNM soccer play

Collegiate women’s soccer is a high-adrenaline, fast-paced game. But the the cheap shots taken by one Lobo player are still pretty hard to explain.
In a nationally-televised match Thursday between UNM and BYU, Lobo defender Elizabeth Lambert was caught making some rough fouls on Cougar players. At one point, Lambert even pulls an opponent to the ground by her hair.
The outburst earned Lambert nation-wide notoriety and an indefinite suspension from her team.
Saturday, BYU coach Jennifer Rockwood said in such a physical, competitive game, it’s easy for players to get carried away. Full story.
